Overview
Paldor Peak lies at the southeast end of the Ganesh Himal northwest of Kathmandu . It marks the junction of the Tiru and Karpu Dandas at the head of the Mailung Khola, a tributary of the Trishuli Gandaki River . Lying in a remote location, it provides an interesting trekking trail for its climbers.
This peak can be climbed from North East, South East, West and South West Ridge. Bill Tilman, Peter Lloyd, Tenzing Sherpa and Da Namgyal first climbed it during the monsoon of 1949 by the North-East Ridge. Trekking to Paldor is one of the best and famous trekking routes in Ganesh Himal region. In this region trekker could view stunning tranquil lakes, beautiful waterfalls, great Himalayan landscapes and lush green farming terraces. Trekker enters an insight into the lifestyle and culture of the local Tamang and Gurung ethenic group. The trek begins from Syabru Besi, which takes about nine hours drive from Kathmandu and end in Khahare Bazaar and again drive back to Kathmandu.
